WILD & WISE

The Love School Homeschool Collective

Afterschool Enrichment Programs

Ages 5-9 | Tuesdays & Thursdays | 2:30 - 4:30 PM

Our Afterschool Enrichment Programs are an extension of Wild & Wise: The Love School Homeschool Collective, offering children additional spaces to explore their creativity, curiosity, and relationship with the living world.

While these programs are woven into the larger Wild & Wise vision, children do not need to be enrolled in the Wild & Wise daytime program to participate.

We warmly welcome all homeschoolers ages 5–9 to join us for one or both of our seasonal enrichment programs.

Two Pathways for Deeper Exploration

Children may join us for:

Performing Arts on Tuesdays

The Living Story of Our World on Thursdays

or both.

Each program unfolds as a 14-week seasonal journey, allowing children to deepen their skills, relationships, and understanding over time.

Performing Arts:
Awakening the Artist Within

A warm and enlivening environment where children feel safe and inspired to explore improvisation, theatre, storytelling, script writing, movement, somatic dance, singing, music, costume and mask making, and performance.

Here, imagination comes alive, and every child is invited to discover their own unique voice and step into their fullest expression.

A SEASONAL CREATIVE JOURNEY

Each season unfolds around a shared creative process, giving children time to develop their skills, confidence, and creativity while working toward a collective performance and culminating celebration.

Through this communal journey, children naturally develop:

Confidence · Creativity · Curiosity · Communication · Collaboration · Emotional Intelligence · Imagination · Courage

Every child has a place to thrive and shine, whether through acting, movement, music, writing, creating behind the scenes, or helping bring a shared performance to life.Together, we celebrate the unique gifts each child brings to the ensemble.

Tuesdays | 2:30–4:30 PM

The Living Story of Our World

Science, Mythology, Nature & the Story of Life

Each season follows a thoughtfully woven theme, inviting children to journey deeply into the story of our world through the changing rhythm of the season.

This interdisciplinary journey begins with the largest story we know.

Together, we travel from the birth of the universe and formation of the stars to the birth of Earth, exploring Gaia as a living, ever-changing world whose movements have shaped mountains, oceans, climates, and the rich diversity of life.

From there, we follow the unfolding story of life itself, discovering plants, animals, ecosystems, and civilizations, while exploring science and mythology side by side.

FOLLOWING CURIOSITY

Rather than separating learning into isolated subjects, we allow meaningful questions and the children's own interests to lead us deeper.

Our explorations may take us into:

Herbal Wisdom · Animal Adaptations · Ecology · Ancient Cultures · Folklore · World Mythology · Humanity's Relationship with Nature

Children are invited to wonder, question, investigate, make connections, and discover how seemingly different subjects are part of one larger living story.

Thursdays | 2:30–4:30 PM

THE ART OF JOURNALING

Along the way, children cultivate the art of journaling, creating a personal record of their discoveries, questions, reflections, sketches, and inspirations.

They learn to observe deeply, take thoughtful notes, and capture the ideas that spark curiosity and imagination.

Over time, these journals become a place to consolidate learning, deepen understanding, and honor the dreams, questions, and plans for the future that often emerge during these formative years.

Ultimately, this is an invitation to understand not only where we came from, but who we are, our place within the living world, and how each of us can contribute with wisdom, compassion, and purpose.

"The Love School feels like chicken soup for the soul. In this gentle, nurturing place, with Mama Claudia at the helm, there is a tangible goodness that surrounds the children each day, helping them grow, flourish, and feel deeply loved.

There are also quieter blessings, harder to name and impossible to measure ahead of time. Among them is the welcoming, authentic sense of community that holds not only the children, but the parents as well. This shared space of connection is a rare and precious part of The Love School, and it feels truly irreplaceable.

Coming here each day simply feels good. Belonging is felt, relationships are tended, and hearts are met with care. My children and I continue to blossom in this circle of warmth, connection, and love."

- Leslie, Mama of Honu & Kuya

The Love School is a nature-based, relationship-centered learning community rooted in love, belonging, and care for the earth. We welcome children and families of all races, cultures, abilities, genders, neurodiversities, and life experiences.
